School leavers must submit documents correctly and on time to the universities to gain admission to a higher education institution. Access to entrance examinations and thus admission to an institute or university depends in many respects on this.

Step 1

Although the admission campaign in all universities takes place in the summer from July to August, you should inquire with the university of your choice about the exact deadlines for accepting documents.

Documents can be handed in personally to the university (bring them to the Admissions Office). If the institution you have chosen is located in a different region, the package of documents will be sent by post or will complete an application via the Internet. But make sure to check with universities where you are going to enroll whether they apply all listed methods to accept documents from applicants or not.

Make photocopies of your passport, USE certificate, and certificate. Do not forget to have them certified by a notary. Usually, universities accept a standard package of documents prepared by the Ministry of Education. It includes a passport (in case of loss – a certificate collected from the passport office), and it is also possible to provide international access as proof of identity; certificate of secondary education; certificate of passing the Unified State Exam; 3×4 photos from 4 to 6 pieces (must declare the quantity at the university); medical certificate form 086-y (necessary for admission to the full-time department). In addition, include copies of letters of thanks, gratitude, certificates of completion of various courses, and other documents that best characterize you. 

Step 4

Some universities do not require you to attach a copy of the USE certificate. However, it is sufficient to indicate in the application the place and year of the exam, and the number of points scored. In that case, the members of the selection committee themselves clarify the correctness of the information provided by the applicant.

Step 5

Suppose you hand in the documents in person. In that case, the university will check for all the necessary copies and certificates and match them with the originals. The admissions committee members will also help you write the application correctly and proficiently. If you send documents by post, check and double-check yourself: have you already collected the portfolio for university admission? Then, send the package with documents by registered mail with notification.

Step 6

Graduates have the right to apply to five universities at once, choosing three fields of study each. That is, using fifteen budget places at the same time.

Each applicant decides for himself how to use the opportunities offered. Thanks to the uniform state examination, an applicant with an indication of the marks obtained when passing the USE can apply to multiple faculties and specialties simultaneously or one faculty, but different forms of study (full-time, part-time, distance).

Step 8

The receipt of documents, as a rule, begins on June 20 and ends on July 25. This applies to universities that strictly admit students according to the Unified State Exam. However, in creative universities, where additional exams and interviews are held, the admission of documents ends much earlier – on July 5. On July 27, institutes and universities will post lists of all admitted to the competition for access. Then, from July 30 to August 5, I will compile a list of applicants for budget places. If you are one of the accepted, you must submit the originals of all documents to the Admissions Office by August 9.
